Yes. You don't have to use iCloud at all. Just don't sign in.

Mar 05, 2020  Choosing Office for Mac compatible with OS X El Capitan (OS X 10.11) Hi, I have an old iMac which is not compatible with OS X later than El Capitan (10.11) and am considering subscribing to Office 365 Personal. The design and visual appearance of Mac OS X El Capitan free download is entirely unique and sleek unlike any other Mac OS. Apart from the great compatibility of Microsoft products, Mac OS X El Capitan free download delivers promising compatibility with Linux applicatprotons as well. Can Mac OS 10.13.3 still read data in OS X Extended format?

Yes

Will Mac OS 10.6.8 be able to read/write data to/from the new Apple File System?

No... however:

Will upgrading to 10.13.3 change the filesystem or keep the current OS X Extended filesystem?

Your Mac's hard disk drive's file system will not be converted. Only Macs incorporating flash storage exclusively will be converted (and you don't have a choice in the matter). Since your Mac still uses conventional magnetic storage media it will remain Mac OS Extended (not APFS). Unless you are morbidly curious do not convert it to APFS on your own.

• Older Applications

I believe so, but I don't spend much time with obsolete apps. Read the following to determine how to definitively answer that question and everything else you should be considering when contemplating an upgrade: Upgrading macOS without fear. That's what I do and that's what I recommend. No risk.

Is your Mac up to date with the latest version of the Mac operating system (macOS or OS X)? Is it using the version required by some product or feature? Which versions are earlier (older) or later (newer, more recent) than the version currently installed? To find out, learn which version is installed now.

If your macOS isn't up to date, you may be able to update to a later version.

Which macOS version is installed?

From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose About This Mac. You'll see the macOS name, such as macOS Mojave, followed by its version number. If some product or feature requires you to know the build number as well, click the version number to see it.

This example shows macOS Catalina version 10.15 build 19A583.

Which macOS version is the latest?

These are all Mac operating systems, starting with the most recent. When a major new macOS is released, it gets a new name, such as macOS Catalina. And as updates that change the macOS version number become available, this article is updated to show the latest version of that macOS.

If your Mac is using an earlier version of any Mac operating system, you should install the latest Apple software updates, which can include important security updates and updates for the apps installed by macOS, such as Safari, Books, Messages, Mail, Music, Calendar, and Photos.
