MacOS 10.11 El Capitan - End of Life SCS Computing Support Ended macOS El Capitan no longer supported by Apple. In keeping with Apple's release cycle, macOS 10.11 El Capitan is no longer receiving security updates as of August 2018. El Capitan was replaced by Sierra 10.12, High Sierra 10.13 and the current release, macOS 10.14 Mojave.

Williamyf shares a report from The Register: Mozilla has released Firefox 78 with a new Protections Dashboard and a bunch of updates for web developers. This is also the last supported version of Firefox for macOS El Capitan (10.11) and earlier. Firefox is on a 'rapid release plan,' which means a new version every four to five weeks.
